Summary

The course aims to understand the reality of the North Korean economy. It examines the historical process by which North Korean economy developed its unique characteristics, advocating socialist planned economy, but quite different in reality. It also looks at the various aspects of the North Korean economy since 2000, and checks what it is like and how it operates today. Finally, it discusses inter-Korean economic cooperation and the possible economic landscape of a unified Korea.
