Summary

The course introduces various types of historical sources from premodern Korea. Reading through and analyzing specific historical
materials, such as royal court documents and writings of literati, can build a more concrete view of Korean history. By examining
the social, economic, and political contexts in which these materials were produced, students will gain a nuanced understanding of the motivations and perspectives of historical actors.
