Summary

The course examines the history of Korean economy for the past 80 years focusing on foreign aid. The lectures will pay attention to the characteristics and impact of various foreign aid provided to Korea, particularly to policy coordination and resource allocation. It also explores Korea’s transition from a recipient to a donor country. Students will gain a deep understanding of Korea's early economic growth and obtain various insights into international cooperation for development from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
