SummaryThis course examines the history of land reclamation in Korea over time. It will focus on the social background, institutions, and technologies that have driven reclamation in Korea from the Joseon Dynasty to the present day. Students will gain an understanding of Korea as a world leader in reclamation, develop the ability to read the history of reclamation in the current coastal landscape, and have the opportunity to ponder on the relationship between nature, society and humanity. |
