Summary
This course examines the book production process of the Joseon Dynasty and the various workers who participated in it. It comprehensively explains the artisans and supplies that played important roles in each stage of book production, and the publishing culture surrounding them. Students' interests will be satisfied by introducing various stories about the publishing personnel of the Joseon Dynasty recorded in Uigwe and historical records and explaining the real life of the books existing at the Kyujanggak Institute of Korean Studies. Through this course, students will be able to deeply understand the production process of books and the meaning of the books in the Joseon Dynasty.
