Summary
In this course, students learn, from a historical and economic perspective, the process of expanding university education in Korea from the time of liberation to the present. To this end, we examine the changes in the Korean university enrollment rate over time and the characteristics of international comparisons, empirically examine the impact of the rapid increase in the university enrollment rate on the labor market and society, and explore the motives and consequences of entering universities in depth through human capital theory and signal theory. In this process, students will be able to understand the history of higher education in Korea in various interactions between various fields and obtain implications for future higher education development and policy directions.
