Historical Spaces and Urban Development in Seoul |
|
SummaryThis course explores the history of Seoul, which has maintained its status as the capital since it became the seat of government in the Joseon Dynasty. Through Seoul, which is both a space retaining historical traces and a metropolis needing to plan for the present and future, the course addresses the conflict or coexistence between history and urban development. First, it briefly reviews Seoul's history, then examines the history, transformation process, and significant implications for urban development history in major areas within Seoul. Through this, students will not only understand Seoul's historical transitions but also have an opportunity to think about the future direction of the historical city of Seoul. |
