Summary
Under the theme of 'Extracting Economic Indicators Using Historical Maps,' this course covers methods for converting humanistic information contained in images into valuable quantitative data. Students will learn step-by-step, starting from basic data processing using Python and Pandas, to georeferencing techniques that assign spatial information to old maps, and image classification and regression analysis technologies using deep learning. Through this, students will learn methodologies to extract information directly using AI, going beyond merely viewing historical map information visually.
