Summary
The objective of this course is to examine the process of development that the shipbuilding industry, which is currently Korea's representative industry, has experienced until today since it entered and settled in Korea in the modern era. By looking at the historical processes of the modern history of the Korean economy, especially in the history of the shipbuilding industry, students could deeply understand the controversial issues of the modern Korean economy including the problem of colonial industrialization, economic continuity and disparity after the liberalization in 1945, and aid economy and Industrialization focused on export. Also, by understanding the side effect of rapid economic growth and the process of industrialization, students could think about what is the best way to follow with respect to the Korean economy and industry.
