Summary

The objective of this course is to study social policy in Korea, especially in social insurance from economical and historical perspectives. We begin with a general discussion about social policy at first and then address social insurance including Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance, National Pension, Health Insurance, and Employment Insurance, and public assistance program including Basic Pension and National Basic Living Security. As well as the operating principle of each program, we discuss the economical and historical background of system implementation. By taking this course, students could deeply understand how the social policy of Korea progressed from economical and historical perspectives, and by evaluating the assessment of social policy in Korea and the process of reform, students could get some lessons. Also, this class proceeds for 12 weeks with 60 courses and there are 3 types of subtitles, Korean, English, and Chinese.
