Selected for the 2021 Fostering a New Wave of K-Academics Program

The research team led by Professor Young-Jun Cho was selected for the 2021 Fostering a New Wave of K-Academics Program. This project was a public offering by the Korean Studies Promotion Service (KSPS) at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS), and it is a large-scale project unprecedented in the humanities and social sciences that supports a budget of 5 billion won, 1 billion won each year for 5 years from July 2021 to June 2026.


In the economic and social field, Prof. Cho’s research team was the only one selected, and the research topic is “Economic Development of Korea: Past and Present”. As one of Seoul National University’s National Support Research Center, the Center for Korean Economy and K-Academics will be newly established and operated, with the goal of sharing and disseminating the academic research results on Korea’s economic development experience, while highlighting the latest achievements in Korean economic history research from various angles.
